FAREWELL!!!

 Hey!

It's me for the last time. The term ends with this post. I don't know about the future of the blog as I am not sure whether I will have a course to use this blog or not. It is a goodbye and thank you post. 

The course was very challenging for me. I had lots of problems with the apps and websites I am using and sometimes I had difficulties in understanding the tasks. I wasn't familiar with such tools so it took so much time to prepare a task as I wasn't accustomed to even the simplest tools. Creating animation was the hardest challenge. It was too above me. I had to spend almost 7 or 8 hours completing the video. I know that we are living in a technology age but still, I had hard times in this course. But, it was fun sometimes. After creating a video or a handout I was very proud of myself. I liked the outcome. Sometimes the outcome was very satisfying which makes me proud or sometimes I didn't like what I have done. 

The course has strengths on the other hand. It helped me to get used to the technology and create handouts etc. that I can use in future classes when I become a teacher. Before the course, I didn't know how to use the technology in my future classes but now I have more information and skills to use the technology in my classes.

THE LAST TASK: WEBQUEST

 Hey! 

This time my task is about creating a technology-enhanced project. This task is the last task of the term. For this task, we are expected to create a webquest for the students. This task is about making the tasks on the coursebooks more technology-enhanced. To do this we use webquests and today we are creating a webquest!

For this task, I was pair with Yasemin. We chose the preparing a sports magazine with a group task and converted it into an online poster creating task. We used Questgarden to show the task to the learners. It is a webquest creation site that is not that hard to use but it takes time to get accustomed to it.

For making this project technology-enhanced, we gave students a site to explore and a task to create an online poster.

AUGMENTED REALITY (AR) HANDOUT (The hardest task so far!)

 Hey! 

Today I am here with another task of mine. This time I will be sharing my thoughts and experiences on Augmented Reality and the task I created. Augmented Reality (AR) is an enhanced version of the real physical world achieved through digital visual elements, sounds, etc. We were expected to form a handout using AR. I was pair with Yasemin.

We had really hard times using the AR applications. Actually, I am still not very satisfied with the handout we created as we couldn't manage to understand and use AR applications well. We asked for some help from our classmates and then formed the handout. We used 3D AR visuals and 360° VR videos.

Lets go on flipping!

Hey! It's me again. I'm here with another task of mine. This one is a task that is similar to the last one I shared on my blog which is about flipping classroom. But this time, we were expected to flip a grammar classroom instead of a vocabulary one. 

It was a pair work and I was pair with Yasemin. If you are interested you can reach his blog via. yaseminpirim. We used Powtoon in order to create the video and Wordwall to create the quiz. I will not be talking about wordwall because I shared our experience on it in my last post so if you are interested you can reach it by clinking here. However, we used Powtoon for the first time and it was quiet challenge for us. We weren't familiar with Powtoon but as we move on to work on it, we learned how to use it and created a nice video, I think. Hope you like it too. 

 If you are going to use Powtoon, you will face with a problem that if you are not premium than you are not allowed to create a video more than 3 minutes. So, We had to divide our video into 2 parts.

Come and join! We are flipping a vocabulary lesson!

 Hello my dear viewers!

I am going on creating new items that I can use in my future classes. This time, my task is on how to flip a vocabulary lesson. We are asked to create a video on flipping a vocabulary lesson and also preparing a quiz or checkpoints.  

It was a pair work. Firstly we chose which category of vocabualy we will be working on. We chose pollution category. Then we contextualized the topic. The first part of the task was kinda easy.

Creating the video was the biggest challenge in this task for us. We had to change context then we had to change some parts of the content. Then creating video took a lot of time. Even in the process of creating the video, we were still discussing about what to change. It was a very difficult task for me. Although we were working as a pair. We had hard times. We used Movavi for creating the video. It was hard to use for me but somehow I could handle it and I believe we created a good video.

We knew the subject and how can we create it so it wasn't that hard.  My pair, Yasemin and I shared the work. . Actually, we shared the task with Yasemin. I worked on the video mostly while she was working with quiz. She didn't have hard times creating the quiz. To create the quiz we chose wordwall

Back with a Language Awareness Task

 Hello my dear viewers!

I am here with a first task of my new lesson. Today I will be talking and sharing my homework which is creating a language awareness task using corpus. You may ask what is corpus? Corpus is a collection of a written texts. Corpus is something that you can use if you don't know the usage of a word or if you want to figure out the rule of a word or structure. Corpus is used in data-driven learning. Data-driven learning is making learners use technology to discover rules or structures.

In this task, I was pair with Yasemin . We chose Skell as it was much more easier to use and more useful for what we are going to create. We created a task on usages of the adverbs of frequency. You can see our task by clicking here.

 Hey! Guess who is back?

I know I was absent for a little time but I will be here with my new lesson called Material Design in English Language Teaching. Although name of the lesson has changed, I will continue to share my tasks here. This time, the focus of my tasks and blogposts will be about how to design materials for ELT classrooms.
